She walked into our lives like she invented us.
Sniffed us out for the dream she needed.
We all needed. What's called love
is ravenous
trailing its beautiful death.
When was it you told me?
And I thought:
Once I loved. Now, I don't.
It seemed simple.
Till you stood before the mirror
and shaved your head.
Those tiny slices in the flesh.
So mad I loved you. That
you could go so far down
till it bled.
